Who this policy covers
BeautyLite provides salon management software for independent beauty establishments and solo professionals. This policy explains how we handle information through beautylite.com and the BeautyLite service, including appointment notifications.
When an establishment uses BeautyLite to manage your appointments, that establishment determines how your salon records are collected and used. BeautyLite processes those records to provide the service. Contact your establishment first about bookings, corrections, or its own privacy practices. Contact BeautyLite at support@beautylite.com about the platform or this policy.
Information we handle
- Account and business information: names, email addresses, business contact details, account access, and settings.
- Salon records: client contact details, appointments, services, staff assignments, visit history, notes and formulas, and ticket and payment records entered or imported by an establishment.
- Messaging information: intended recipient details, notification content, communication preferences, consent information supplied to us, opt-out requests, and delivery status or error records.
- Technical information: IP addresses, browser information, session information, and operational or security logs generated when you use the service.
- Support information: information you provide when contacting us.
Please do not include payment card numbers, card security codes, or unrelated sensitive information in client notes or support messages.
How information is used
We use information to operate accounts; provide scheduling, client records, tickets, reports, and staff compensation features; send requested appointment communications; respond to support requests; protect accounts; troubleshoot faults; and maintain backups and recovery capabilities.
We do not sell salon client data. We do not use private salon records to train general-purpose AI models or build cross-salon marketing lists.
SMS consent and preferences
Where SMS is enabled, appointment messages are sent on behalf of the establishment identified in the message. An establishment must obtain permission appropriate to its messaging program before enabling SMS for a client. Providing a phone number or importing an existing client record does not, by itself, establish SMS consent.
SMS consent is separate from email preferences and marketing consent. Appointment-message consent is not permission to send unrelated promotional messages. You can withdraw SMS consent by replying STOP to the sending number or contacting the establishment. Reply HELP for messaging assistance, or email support@beautylite.com. See our SMS Terms.
We do not sell or share mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Messaging providers may process the information needed to deliver messages and enforce opt-outs on our behalf.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with third parties for their own use. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won’t be shared with any third parties.
Service providers and disclosures
We use service providers for hosting, storage, email, SMS delivery, and other operational functions. Where Twilio is used for SMS, it processes recipient numbers, message content, and delivery information to provide that service. Providers receive information needed for their assigned functions, not permission to use salon data for unrelated marketing.
Information is accessible to authorized users of the relevant establishment and, when needed for support or operation, authorized BeautyLite personnel. We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect the service and its users.
Depending on hosting and provider arrangements, information may be processed outside your province or Canada and may be subject to the laws of those locations. This policy does not promise Canada-only storage.
Retention and protection
Salon records are retained to provide the service and according to the establishment’s account and recordkeeping needs. Operational logs, messaging records, and backups may have different retention periods. We retain information as needed for service delivery, security, dispute handling, and applicable obligations, rather than promising indefinite storage.
We use access controls and operational safeguards designed to protect information. No storage or transmission system is completely secure. Deleted or corrected information may remain in restricted backups until those backups expire through normal rotation. Limited suppression records may be retained to honor an opt-out.
Questions, access, and changes
For access to or correction of salon records, contact the establishment that holds your records. BeautyLite can assist the establishment with requests where appropriate. For platform privacy questions, email support@beautylite.com. We may need to verify your identity before providing account or client information.
We may update this policy as the service changes. The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
